Can you use an external serial device somehow with Visor like you can with a Palm? I've heard conflicting results with one person saying that all you need is a USB to Serial converter but have not been able to confirm this with Handspring.
While the Visor has a serial interface for syncing, it does not have any handshaking lines (DSR, DTR, CTS, RTS) only TXD and RXD. This, I believe, severely limits the external devices one can use. Handspring's Developer's Kit manual even states max speed is 9600 bps. Also, the Visor "speaks" TTL, not RS232, so a conversion circuit is required.
We'll just have to wait for those Springboards...
