-- syncing mail with oe (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13008)
um, i'm sort of new to the visor/windows world, (visor/mac i'm fine with)...
anyway, i can't seem to get the mail conduit set up with outlook express properly. it's telling me to set up oe as my default MAPI client, but i can't for the life of me find anything about MAPI in oe. i'm sure it's something very simple, but i must be overlooking it...
it says in the tools --> options menu there will be a switch, and i just cannot find it. any help greatly appreciated...

Are you using Outlook Express 5.x? If so, you do not need to worry about finding and setting the MAPI client option. OE just needs to be the default mail application, or in OE 5.x terminology, the default mail handler.
See Tools->Options, then the General Tab.
Also, note this information from both the Palm and Handspring Support pages:
quote:
Q. Why can't I synchronize my mail with Outlook Express 5.0?
A. Versions of Outlook Express 5.0 downloaded and installed before April 16, 1999 are not compatible with the mail conduit. However, Microsoft has resolved the issue in the latest version of Outlook Express 5.0, which is included with Internet Explorer 5.0. It is available from the Microsoft web site at www.microsoft.com. To confirm your version of Outlook Express, pull down the Help menu in Outlook Express and choose "About Microsoft Outlook Express." Version 5.00.2314.1300-C is fully compatible with the Mail conduit.
