quick question,

how difficult would it be to send whatever is displayed on your visor's screen to a springboard module? To further elaborate, how difficult would it be to make a module with a standard video connector that would send the screen image to a video projector or monitor? I couldn't imagine this taking too much circuitry? Or am i showing my lack of knowledge in this area?

This is essentialy what the E.M. does now
And, in fact, isn't someone already working on this (or was it for either PktPC or HPC)?

I was hoping it could even go a step further, w/maybe an extra power supply, or a 9V batt. or something - turn the SB itself into a projector that could show either Pwr. Pt. slide shows or even avis.

Maybe you could only project <1 ft., though, and it might require total darkness - so the vertical mkt. willing to pay for such a SB (esp. if it cost more than the device itself - though if you could save the, say, $4,000 those laptop projectors cost, not to mention the weight) might not be big enough...

But'cha never know...

Other than howto/training courses, I do not see the point of this. The resolution couldn't look too hot on a large screen; however, I think I too have heard of a development like this before. It would be a battery drain, no question. A conduit for Powerpoint slides seems to make sense. I'm not familiar with PocketPCs but it only makes sense that they be used for presentation purposes, editing at the least.

while powerpoint capability would be nice, i don't want this to be too complicated. There is a program called "FlipChart" which allows you to make simple presentations slides on your Palm/Visor. I'd like to put together 10 'slide' (screen) point form note type presentations and then plug into a projector. The resolution doesn't have to be great. as long as what's on my Visor screen is projected. Anything, even the launcher/datebook/ you name it!


I don't have documentation for the pins in the SPringboard slot...is the video display sent to the SB (i'd imagine that it allows info from the SB to get to the screen, but is this a 2-way deal?)

We were talking at work and a friend wondered if the video driver in your desktop/laptop had something to do with the communication with a projector?

I imagined it wouldn't be a simple solution but thought i'd ask on the board and see (incidently, i was hoping you (and a few others) would see this post and reply. If the "video card/adapter sb" isn't possible, I just read from PalmPowerEnterprise (yeah I read the whole mag) that you can use POSE to create a copy of you device and run the palm emulator on you PC.

And unless I'm reading it incorrectly, you can run all the programs you had on your device at the time of the pose image.

The article was about how to train ppl on using the device and the software.

As I was reading the article, I was thing this is cool, but isn't there a problem creating a POSE form the VISOR?

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

other projectors

Back when I was in high school the TI-whatever calculators had external video outputs(in the instructor version) that would let them plug into a screen that sat ontop of a projector overhead. My visor should be able to do anything that a calculator can do. The eyemodule does the reverse of this taking an image from the EM camera and redirecting it to the visor display. Mind you the EM is writing to the memory at the same time that the visor is reading from it so its a little choppy. Hardware wise in reguard to the springboard slot it is a reversable thing. Your app or hack would just have to write your video buffer to the memory as the springboard reads to it. Messing with video buffers is insane so good luck to the poor bastard that programs it.
