-- Is there an Mac OS IM for MSN and Yahoo? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=14410)

Is there a multi-messaging client for Mac OS9?

I've been playing with Jabbernaut, the only one I can find, and have not been able to get it to work.

The only other one I know of is Odigo, but it does not support MSN.

I'd like one that supports MSN and Yahoo, if possible.

Wow...never seen anyon ask for that much before. Unfortunately, no one IM system plays well w/ any others. Try on VersionTracker or download.com. Good luck

Are you talking about MSN instant messanger? Yeah, you can download it here. If it's something different, forgive my ignorance.

P.S. I'm using OS 9.0.4 and it's working just fine for me.

If you don't mind using a web-based IM, you can use Sprint IM found at cobrand.intraactive.com

Oops...I guess I didn't make myself clear.

Yes, I know you can get MSNIM and YIM and ICQ for Mac. I'm looking for one that does them all together.

The big one out there is Jabber:

http://jabber.com

Which works with MSN, YIM, AOL, ICQ and maybe even a few others.

The problem is that there is only one client for the Mac OS9: Jabbernaut. And it just isn't very good (that and there's no documentation).

So, I was wondering if anyone know of any others.

Odigo is an interesting one too...but no MSN support.

Lightbulb

Can't help you with OS9, but for OS X there's Fire which supports a host of different chat platforms.

Have you used Fire? That's the OSX Jabber client. It looked nice.

Actually, I'm installing OSX tomorrow...so maybe (if classic mode works OK) I'll be using Fire!

Forgot to mention that Sprint IM actually does support MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ. My bad. It's supposed to work with MacOS but I'm not sure. All I can say is that it works beautifully on my UNIX box at work.

I personally don't use it because the only client I use is AIM, which has an OS X beta out right now. I've heard nothing but good things about Fire though.

Well, I FINALLY have OSX running!

And I did get FIRE to work...it is a great little app. The only problem is that it can't tell if a 'buddy' is online or not.

An improvement over having 3 IM apps open at once, though...
