Cool

Since VPL has flash rom, anybody here upgrade to Palm OS 4.0 successfully? If it's possible, I plan to buy a VPL in addition to my prism.

Some models of the Platinum and Prism may well have been built with Flash ROM, but I don't believe it has ever been established that they have the circuitry to support actually flashing the ROM.

Incidentally, there's an article over on Palm Infocenter (http://www.palminfocenter.com/view_Story.asp?ID=1736
) about Visor Edges having a Flash ROM. The article says it's not recognized as flashROM by JackFlash or FlashPro though

Talking Flash Attack

You know there is probably a agreement between Handspring and Palm (3Com). It is part of the Lincense and development. I heard Handspring is free to help 3Com develop and design the new plam O/S but they cannot install it on a flash upgradable device for resale.

In other words the bull that handspring posted that they do not use flash rom because it is to expensive was hogwash.

Handspring's modified palm 3.5 2H OS version has almost everything that the Palm OS 4.0 have. There's no need to upgrade.
