Handspring International Users (non-USA)

Handspring International Users (non-USA)

Would like to hear some opinions about Handspring and Visors from a non-USA point of view.

What do you think? Are there (m)any non-USA users/fans.

Guess I better not exclude Treos either.

All invited to comment.

I am from Singapore.

GrandTech is the local distributor for the Handspring and Visors products, including the TREO.

Most people who have bought HS products distributed by GrandTech (http://www.grandtech.com.sg) are satisfied with the excellent after-sales service provided by them.

Over here in Manila there's quite a number of Handspring users -- both Visor and Treo. A local dealer claims that last year he bought up several hundred Prisms from Hong Kong to sell here and unloaded them fast (he held one promotion where he offered a Prism for less than $200).

Me, I'm on my second year of Prism use, in fact it's just about to give up on me: the battery's fading fast and the past week I've had to open it up several times because the hard buttons keep malfunctioning (I've found the problem is how the face plate is screwed on). I intend to use my Prism until it falls into pieces -- if I get this hard button issue licked I'll be buying a new battery so I can extend its life. The Treo just doesn't cut it with me because I need the modules AND a full-size keyboard.

hello
london, uk calling.

well, i'm not sure about the "scene" here in uk. i can only remember one particular time when i was browsing the news late on a train at night with my original hs deluxe and someone was trying to beam to me, turned out to be a guy impressing his girlfriend with his own hs !

things are starting to wind down big time, you can always tell when the hs related bits dwindle in numbers on ebay
i'm having a real hard time to pick up the things i want before it all but disappears. namely memplug mmc, GSM etc and i dont believe in paying full price !

just another cheap geek and his 2 pence

Hang in...

Great to hear from so many ports of call. Though it seems like HS stuff is disappearing (e.g. eBay), I think it is just getting scattered around a bit.

PalmGear's new accessory partner: Expansys.com seems to have a lot of Handspring items and they have operations in the UK as well as other areas.

If you haven't already, might want to check them out - esp. with regard to MemPlug.

Malaysia

I'm from Malaysia. My location is really by the toilet but it didn't ask for country now does it? )

Btw, don't know about S'pore but Grantech M'sia really suck.

I'm waiting for the next Ultimate PDA to upgrade to (hopefully, it would integrate fast-wireless-internet connections and an Internet phone so I can call my sister in the States for local charge, and more integrated solutions unlike the half-baked products available now)

Btw, why so few responses? OMG, all the rest must've Sonyed!

I don't think they all switched, they just aren't forum users. From other sources/places on the net, I've heard from users all around the world - literally. I'm not saying there are a gazillion of us, but there are many longtime Visor users who are going merrily along their way. Guess, if you were to label us you might say we are the "strong, silent" type.
