-- Bought Matchbook, just bought Innopocket (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12338)
Bought Matchbook-IT IS CHEAP! Just bought Innopocket to replace it....
I just was wondering if anybody else was nuts like me. I bought a Matchbookdrive and love having the convenience of 16 megs (or any size CF) for all of my database files. However, I use it so much that I just keep the module in all the time. This is SO annoying as I can't put the cover on the back and I have to fumble around with it while using my Visor. The result is so much less convenient. To top it off, the trial period on FAFileMover just expired and I'm looking at paying $12 to get the software.
So for another $28, I can get a module which looks nice, is flush with the case, and comes with the software I am about to buy. I'm talking, of course, of the Innopocket drive.
I applaud the small guy, and would love to support MatchbookDrive, which appears to be run from a garage. Alas, the reviews are correct. It looks cheap and feels cheap. Everything from the slot for the card which looks like it was cut with an X-Acto blade to the empty space inside which makes it tough to insert and remove cards safely to that Avery label reading MatchBookDrive which is peeling off makes me question why I bought this device.
I'm gonna Flea-bay it, hopefully make back like $10, and get the Innopocket.
Thoughts? Anybody taking similar moves?

I bought the Matchbook and love it. Sure, from the reviews it sounds like the Innopocket is better made, but I don't really care. The Matchbook is made well enough to fit my needs. For those who don't like the fact that the case isn't glue solid, go ahead and glue it. If you want to buy the Innopocket, great. If you want to get the Matchbook (which has another model coming out which makes the top of the CF card flush with the top of the module), you can feel confident that it works just fine too. I like the fact that I got a product that is fully functional and I can support "the little guy" at the same time. I see no need for myself to upgrade just so I can have the same thing with some thicker plastic. Just my 2 cents.

$39.99 Shipped
The whole thing with the FileMover cost me about $40 shipped. Shipping is free within the United States.
And I agree about the garage thing. Large scale integration and manufacturing techniques make garage home-brew sellers obsolete. USR started as a bunch of guys soldering together modems in a garage. Today's modems are so densely packed with logic devices and large scale integration that you couldn't make a decent one without a multi-billion dollar facility. Same with any sort of technology..... can't make it in your garage anymore.....

I ordered the InnoPocket
I have the MatchBookDrive and I'm not to pleased with it at all. I also ordered the InnoPocket as soon as it was available. The InnoPocket looks to be the module that I want; flush fitting (so much for MBD's Patent), solid, better machining, and GUIDE RAILS for the CF Card...
