With bluetooth coming into the world, how do you view that bluetooth could change the visor? I see it as a breakthrough for pdas. I'd simply love it walking along city streets surfing the web on my visor, or even going to the airport w/ my visor and be automatically checked in with my airline, just by walking past a bluetooth reciever. What do you think could be some uses?

Question

I'm not at all sure if this is viable. I have always thought it would be cool if a blue tooth enabled Visor could work in tandem with a blue tooth enabled pager. Both units would work independantly of each other. The pager would be a normal numeric or alphanumeric pager with it's own independant service. But I think the pager should sound an alarm if it's taken outside of say a 10 or 15 foot range of the Visor.

I know that there isn't a single person on this message board that would EVER forget and leave their Visor behind in the office, classroom, resteraunt or what have you. But wouldn't it be cool if for those who do there was a subtle reminder in the form of an audible alarm?

As I say, I don't know how viable this is. Is this doable?

Hmmmm...
A bluetooth reminder? Sort of like the car keys that beeped when you clapped? Just think... a Bluetooth wallet and keychain that would beep when you were out of range.

What is the range on a bluetooth transceiver?

The range is 1m - 2m if I recall correctly. A problem to consider if you are in IT, bluetooth conflicts with the existing wireless ethernet standard.
