-- Are recent Prism screens as bright as older ones? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12939)
I just had my Prism replaced due to the paint rubbing off and a crack by the SB slot. They said it would take 7 to 10 days and it came overnight. I wanted to check it thouroughly as I plan to send the new one off for the 16 MB upgrade. No dead pixels...paint looks fine but can't predict whether it will wear any better... but when I compare the screen to my old one, I swear the new one does not go as bright! I've adjusted the contrast and brightness and it just seems a bit dimmer and a bit more blue. Any one else noticed this? I hate to give up any brightness as I do occasionally use it outdoors.

Different PDAs, different brightnesses
I was complaining a while back that my Prism wasn't as bright as some Palm IIIcs I've compared it with. I checked again recently at CompUSA and found that my Prism was very slightly brighter than the one on display, and that both Prisms were much brighter than the IIIc. All the units had maximum brightness (although I didn't do the contrast adjustment trick on the store's Prism). I have noticed that some Prisms are a bit brighter than others, but the difference to me is much less marked than the difference that I had earlier seen between Prisms and IIIcs. I'm starting to think that color screens are just a variable lot - you pays your money and you takes your chances, it seems!
