IrLink versus Xircom Springport

A few days ago I purchased, and 8mb memory card for my Visor Deluxe, and a Xircom Springport Modem. Up to this point I was using my Ir enabled mobile phone to pick up any emails whilst I was out, and wanted to use the Xircom, when the mobile reception was poor. When I plugged in the modem, various new icons appeared on my screen, but the one I needed was not there(ie Mobile Link). Because of another problem I had, I had to do a Hard Reset, and decided to check the availability of the above program as I went along. Before installling IrLink I checked things out and the program was there. I then installed SERIRCOMLIB, needed my IrLink, and checked the modem again and the program had dissapeared.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and found a solution/
