Exclamation

I've just received my Innopak!
I plugged it, I've seen the Innopak/2V message and... I got a Fatal Error!

MemoryMgrNew.c
Line:3101, Nill ID
<Reset>

I desactivated all hackmasters, freed 1MB of memory... still the same...

I'm waiting for some support from Innogear...

Any idea?

Thanks

Back-up your device, perform a HARD reset (clearing all apps and data), then plug in the module. If the same thing happens, talk to Innogear about getting a replacement. If it works, though, it probably means that there is some app (not necessarily a hackmaster hack) that has messed with some system calls or something...it's just plain process of elimination at that point to figure out which app(s) are causing the problem. Please post any incompatable apps you find.

Please let us know if you got this solved. You can contact me personaly or our operations manager at [email protected]

Thanks and sorry for any problems (we have been using them for an extended period of time while traveling with Handspring in Europe for their Visor launch, and no problems like this...hopefully it is just an isolated software glitch on your system...if not we will take care of you no problem!)

Wink

It works.
I desactivated Launcher III (as default launcher) then I plugged in the InnoPak module again... and it worked!
I unplugged it in, reactivated Launcher III, and plugged it in again and... it didn't worked!
Cool!

Upgrade to a higher version of Launcher III. I use 1.52 and have no problems with the IP/2V.

I got my innopak 2/v today...some initial thoughts:

1. if you're using add-on alarm sounds, make sure you either select one that only plays for a short duration or one of the standard ones that come with the visor....the vibrator motor will run as long as the third-party sound plays.

2. while testing your new springboard, set your alarm to only ring once, if you got it set for multiple times, so will the vibrator unit go off, quite annoying if you're like me and left it on the "indiana jones" sound alarm which runs for a long time.

3. had some problems with jotloc initially I think due to the long audio alarm I have left it set it originally...once I switched to the "alert" alarm that's bundled with palmOS, then all was well with jotloc...even get the option to snooze an alarm now...without having to use 3alarmhack!

4. if left on desk, the vibrator motor is strong enough to set your visor moving...even when in its case. In fact, it vibrated the case right off the edge of my desk, so be mindful of this....the case protected the visor from the fall to carpet.

5. I use the rhodiana clip-on case, tried it and can feel the innopak vibrate but not as strongly as when held in one's hand. Still, it's detectable.

6. NOTE: definitely affects battery charge when it runs for more than a few seconds. I watched the battery gauge drop .10 as it vibrated! Definitely pick an audio alarm which is short! No big surprise that it uses up battery power, just something not very emphasized either at the Innogear website.

So far, am happy with its performance, the extra 2MB of storage will come in handy someday, right now I've still got 4.4mb free within the Visor so it's a nice to have only.

Talking

Glad to hear the problem is solved. Innopak users, please keep us posted...as you know it is very tough to test hardware with every third party apps and hacks (due to the massive developer support of the PalmOS), so please tell us if you find any other conflicts.

Also, a calling to all Palm developers out there, please be aware that we offer a developer kit (SDK/API document) for InnoPak/2V, so if anyone has any other cool uses of the Vibe feature, please go to our developer page and sign up.

(I will offer a free prize to the first developer to come up with a new working application for InnoPak/2V...be sure to send to me directly and reference this post).

As a general rule, InnoGear will open all our products to software developers by providing free SDK/API documents(Including future InnoPaks, SixPak, and MiniJam).
