I have a Palm IIIx with the Palm Desktop on my computer. Would it be possible to use a Visor with a serial cradle on the same computer? If so, would I have to load the Visor Palm Desktop? Can I beam software and files between the Palm IIIx and the Visor?

Thank-you. (Please don't ask me why I would have both a Palm IIIx and a Visor-I am not sure I would be able to explain this.)

Yes, you could use a Visor with a serial cradle on the same computer if you're using Win95 or 98. Not sure about Mac. Hotsync appears to be only be able to be configured for one COM port at a time so you would either have to reconfigure it before synching to the other device, or unplug the one cradle and plug in the other.

I don't think that you have to install the Visor software to do this. Installing the Visor software gives you the USB option. I am using the Visor software to sync to Visor (USB) and Palm (serial).

Yes, you can beam software and data between the two devices. I suggest using BeamBox for this.

Remember, Visor uses Datebook+ while the PalmIIIx uses Palm's datebook. I would check for conflicts first...

Datebook+ vs. Datebook usage will not create any problems. The Datebook database format is not changed when one uses Datebook+ or Datebk3.

I am using Datebk3 (Datebook+'s big daddy) on one device and Datebook on the other.
