Talking

I run Linux on my desktop at work. I am a new PDA user, but I played around with xcopilot a little bit and know that there is a pilot-xfer program that (apparently) works to transfer files between a Palm and Linux, using the Serial Port.

How many are going to try to use Linux with their Visor? And who is going to be looking at USB? I'm investigating the Linux-USB status now, but I think it is weak at the moment for something like this.

Anyone interested in maintaining a discussion around Linux/Visor issues?

Dawntrader,
I currently run Linux (as much as I can anyway). I don't have my Visor yet (Blue Dlx ordered 10/15 w/serial cradle) so I'll let you know my experiences when I get it in. They also have KDE versions of those apps called KPilot and KPilotDaemon.

I'll be looking to sync with Netscape Communicator for mail and address book data and then maybe another PIM for contacts, and scheduling. I'll let you know.

one of the guys on my hall with a serial cradle does all syncing with the linux pilot tools. it works great for him, and i believe the programs are included on the bundled visor CD.

Cool

I'm aware of the Windstone ROM image, but I haven't played with it yet. However, what I was really wondering about was anyone attempting to use USB under Linux.

Hang in there Wizard, I got my Blue Deluxe on Wed 11/10 -- 7 weeks after ordering 9/22....

I like it!
