-- Doodle pad for prism (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=11173)

Posted by MrKaarel on 01-25-2001 09:51 AM:

it seems to be an easy task, but i can't find a FREE doodle pad (or any lightweight graphics program) for my prism. all the programs i could find either didn't work normally or even crashed. i tried pendraw, doodle, qpaint, handwrite, etchasketch, scribbler, scribble.
can anybody help?
(it must be free)

Try SneakPics. You can get it at http://www.palmgear.com

What about Tealpaint? It's Shareware, but I don't think it expires... maybe I just haven't used it that much.

sneakpics has wasted too much space for layout. and tealpaint is not the right tool for the person who's going to use it - it has to be very simple. 'bugme' would be perfect - but it's not free. thanks for responding.

Palm Draw

Palm Draw is a really simple drawing app, I haven't tried it yet but here's the link.

i'm not satisfied yet. Palm Draw is really very simple, but it's not very convenient to use - you have to go through too much selecting to get a new pic or save one. sorry. i whine too much.

I use DiddleBug on a plain-old black and white visor and love it. You can turn off the palettes and control the whole thing in graffiti. Whether it works on a Prisim...I honestly don't know.

Tealpaint is the only color doodle-style program I know of. I thought it was stable in a IIIc. What problems do you have on a Prisim?

btw. the program doesn't have to BE in color, it has to WORK in a color device like prism.
i'll try diddleBug right away, thanks

no diddleBug for me either. opens up nicely, but doesn't create a new note when pressing on the new-note-picture. and when i managed to create a new note, it wasn't blank but was a copy of the first one i had drawn. and when i went back to note #1, then it was blank.
tried it on my VDX and worked just fine. it is a perfect match to what i am looking for except it doesn't work on prism. couldn't find any info from the authors homepage either.

You'r right diddlebug does have problems with the Prism...
I emailed them asking (begging) for an updated version...
response was they will work on it... mabie in a few months.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed as diddlebug has the simplicity to do what we want... a quick "post it" type note pad to jot a shopping list or phone number.

I am using diddlebug on my prism anyway, but only can use the first note page... can't get more than one note unless you delete the first one and start again... still better than nothing.

BugMe is almost as versatile as DiddleBug, the demo version only gives you 3 files to save. DiddleBug does not support the color Visor or Palm.
