-- What SmartMedia cards ACTUALLY work (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15142)
I know that technicly everything is supposed to work, but it doesn't. Which brands from all yall's personal experience for SMARTMEDIA work and don't. I can afford viking media, and a sandisk drive, but the sandisk media gets a bit pricy.. any help?

I have a Fuji 8 megabyte card which works, and another one whose brand is not printed on it, but it is the one that came bundled with the module I got from Palgear. Does anyone know what this might be, btw?
Are you sure that the card is not damaged? I know that Smartmedia can be fairly easily damaged by static. If you have a card reader or digital camera, perhaps you could see if it works with a device other than your Memplug.
I just got 2 64Meg Sandisk from www.buy.com for 64.95 each
that work fine.
The SmartMedia that PalmGear is putting with their alleged MemPlugs is an SMC.

PiDeveloper, he doesn't have an actual problem, hes just trying to avoid them.
As PiDeveloper has also stated, all SmartMedia should work. This isn't some cooky compact flash adapter, y'know?

I just want to make sure abotu thinks. Matthew hit it right on the spot, since some Compact Flash cards, don't work. It's good to know that all Smart Media works. I do have a question. Since Pi is now talking, when will Amazon ship out the memplug. I.E. Who should I buy it from?
Thank you all.
thats it. I'm done.

What the difference for new designed modules?
Should I buy new one?
TheOne has posted a newspaper picture of the new design in the thread:Memplug - New Design?
Most notable difference is that the card appeares to be flush and goes all the way in & the two little nubs are gone.
I kina like the card sticking out, it makes it look cool (Though I can see how it may interfere with some cases).
