Question

I'm considering relocation from NY to FL, and fould my Visor invaluable to track homes we visited (was there 2-weeks ago). Used it to store address of homes, school info, etc.

Going to FL again in two weeks, looking for a GPS solution to help find those homes/areas we liked as-well-as just to get aroung better.

Will consider anything (springboard or external). Willing to even pay/participate in BETA if I can get a reliable unit for next trip.

Any good suggestions? === Thanks, Pete ===

DeLorme has a GPS unit that syncs with its Street Atlas USA software - decent stuff. The only issue is with a separate GPS receiver, juggling your visor and receiver with the tangle of cords can be kind of a bear - check out smaller.com. They have a review of the DeLorme setup -

hope this helps -

Mike,

I'm considering a relocation package to Tampa area, but have not accepted yet.

now you are talking about may neck of the woods.... Hooking GPS reciver to visor is not easily possible casue the visor has no serial port that all those good palm to GPS apps are made for. The cradle does not work either as it needs a PC on the other end to power the thing. Let me know what areas you are looking at in Tampa. I live in the Valrico area

Waterboy,

Last visit wife and I were looking in the Brandon area. Next visit I'm going to look at West Chase, Pinellas county and north into Pasco.

- I just got "SilkyBoard" to allow my wife to enter info from places we like.
- I just wish I had a GPS module to complete the package.

I saw somewhere that the HandyGPS springboard is already on sale. They should start to ship out by next week. You may want to go to thier website and check it out.

Also, I live in Tampa it's a great city. You mentioned looking at homes in Pasco. If you have to work in Tampa that may be a long drive. Westchase is VERY nice, so is Pinellas. Good luck

I tried to visit site, but browser wanted to download a KOREAN text (2.2MB). I'll wait to I see it reviewd here or somewhere else.

I would also assume it would have to be shipped from oversea and would much rather have an US reseller to deal with.

Pete,
You can just say No (or Cancel) to the Korean text thing, unless you read Korean, and you'll got the info in English. You can also get info at www.marcosoft.com.

I am very curious about the GPS, it's gonna be tough to decide whether to be one of the first kids on the block to get one, or wait and see how it goes for the others first!
