-- Prism vs. IIIc (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=14651)

I need some help here. I want to upgrade to a color unit (I had a platinum). I'm trying to decide if the Prism is better than the Palm IIIc. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

On a technical standpoint, the Prism is much better. On a practical/quality standpoint, I have been hearing that a lot of people have been having problems with the digitizers on the Palm IIIc. Having looked at both, I would definitely go with the Prism. Much nicer screen. Of course, the Prism does cost a bit more, and puts it closer to the M505 in terms of cost and features. Even still, I would probably stick with the Prism, but I also have a few Springboard modules and accessories that may "color" my opinions.

Cool

I have had both, and hardware wise the prism has been way better for me: I went through like 5 IIIc's before I got a good one ... I have had the same prism since November.
Also, if the springboard is important to you - as it is for me - the prism is the way to go.
Screen wise, the IIIc screen is actually brighter than the prisms, but the 16bit color on the prism more than makes up for it I think.
The prism is a bit bigger, but it has the springboard slot, which can "hide" many periferals - unlike on the IIIc where any aditional hardware makes it bigger. The prism also has a faster processor.
Therefore, the prism was better for me, but you have to decide what is right for you.
