How about Olivia Newton-John, will she fit in the back?

Olivia Newton-John?!?!?, yeah she was hot...when I was 10!!! That like 17 years ago.

Elle MacPherson in the back seat, now that's a good package. You can keep the car, just send Elle over.

Cool Hehe

They sell Subaru Foresters here in the states! My gosh, here in the 'nati we're plauged with those stupid "Croc Dundee" ads with the fake Aussie accent. It competes with the:

1) Ford Escape / Mazda Tribute
2) Toyota Rav4
3) Nissan XTerra
4) Honda CRV
5) Jeep Cherokee / Liberty
6) Chevy Tracker / Suzuki Sidekick
8) KIA Sportage
9) Hyundai Santa Fe.

I've been in the back seat of one, it's cramped back there. REALLY cramped. The one in your handle looks decent, but when they were first over here they looked pretty dorky.... really dorky.

And it's not made in Aussie-land, it's from Japan.

BTW, bondiblue looks green, but by golly, it's blue. That's the color of my avatar.

I agree, the legspace in the backseat is a bit small, but for the 2 of us it is great...
It has a lot of cargo space though..it fits our 2 bikes perfectly in the back..
It is made in japan, and the design is very japanese, very clever things (hillhold etc).

Great car for young couples (maybe with small kids)
not really designed to carry 5 adults (IMHO)

I hope you were joking about the Coriolis effect. It has nothing to do with toilets, sinks, bathtubs, etc. It's a result of the differing speeds between the upper latitude and lower latitude of a hurricane, tornado, etc.

What?

D-R,

You mean that the way a toilet "flows" has absolutely nothing to do with the Northern versus Southern Hemisphere's? Another "old wives" tale shattered.

Next I'm sure your going to tell me that there isn't a real Easter Bunny that brings candy to the front yard. Gee!

Fat-Man: Elle's definitely hot but the way that ToolkiT describe's the forester and Elle being 6 feet, you'd better have ToolkiT send her over in something bigger.

Hey Tool, what do you drive down under that's more appropriate for consenting adults?

Nope, AFAIK the Easter Bunny is alive and well. I'm not so sure about the tooth fairy, though. I had a wisdom tooth pulled a couple of weeks ago and it's still under my pillow.

From what I understood from my one high school physics class 12 years ago, the Coreolis (sp?) effect does exert a pull on the water in sinks and toilets, etc.........just not very much. My teacher used the example of pushing a train locomotive with one hand: if you had a thousand years, you might be able to budge it. However, with the size of a sink or toilet bowl, and the time it takes to drain, it's negligable. It has more to do with the shape of the sink and the motion of the water when the plug is pulled.

First of all, why exactly is this important? Second, attempting to parody people can certainly be interpreted as trying to flame them.

Considering your evident reading comprehension difficulties, you are no doubt underqualified to even engage at analysis on a high school psychology level, nevertheless Psych 101.

Of course it does. It's exerting a force on us right now as well. Everything that has a physical size (sorry, God) is affected. Would it ever cause the water in the tub/sink/toilet to spiral? No. Not even given a million years. The waters own internal currents (caused by the molecules bumping into each other) is more than enough to overcome Coriolis forces. Could you push a train with one hand, even given 1000 years? No. The trains inertia requires a certain amount of energy to overcome, and it's not cumulative. Push that sucker hard as you want for as long as you want; you're not going to budge it, unless you can exert enough energy at one time to overcome its inertia.

I don't know if drains are designed to spiral water, but I do know that spiraling water drains faster.

I think that's the problem. You're assuming that he's past the age of 12. I'm extremely dubious of that.

So please grow up....

'Twould be nice, but I wouldn't count on it. When one notices that others are not happy with one's actions, and instead of offering an apology or changing one's actions, one tries to pass it off as others' responsibility to email/message one, one is clearly lacking in good judgement. When one is further informed of this by a 'person in authority', and chooses to attempt to ridicule that 'authority' as well, positive results through attempts to reason are unlikely.

Why are you doing impressions of people in the first place? I don't recall a news announcement about VisorCentral appointing a new jester/fool/village idiot.

The only 2 people I'm sure about are Miradu and Keefer, since those are just modified things they've actually said. (No offense)

This reminds me of people who say things like "bblue, you are a waste of flesh and the biggest buffoon to ever prove the need for birth control (no offense)." IOW, saying 'no offense' afterwards doesn't remove the obvious intent.

quote:
Like I said, it's simply here to lighten people up.

First of all, not your job. Second of all, you're obviously not qualified to tell when people are _not_ being light if you think that you need to lighten them up.

If someone becomes offended, they simply need to email/message me and I'll take it off.

That shouldn't be necessary in the first place.

Oh yes, grow up . Hundreds of people before me have used that "Take Psychology 101" thing before.

And you still haven't gotten the hint? Shocking.

Toby,

I think you are hitting the nail (or the pain) right on the head!

I guess it's tacit then.

This reminds me of people who say things like "bblue, you are a waste of flesh and the biggest buffoon to ever prove the need for birth control (no offense)." IOW, saying 'no offense' afterwards doesn't remove the obvious intent.

I simply think that the phrase you are quoting is no more out of place on VC than anything I say.

First of all, not your job. Second of all, you're obviously not qualified to tell when people are _not_ being light if you think that you need to lighten them up.

I certainly would not think that anyone in here other than a moderator would be. But more appropriately, my "impression" of you was rather light in my opinion, although it was no accident. I simply think that you're taking what I am saying far too seriously. Read on>

That shouldn't be necessary in the first place.

You're right. Nobody in here should be so "analysis-rententive" that they cannot take some humor. (Yes, I know you didn't mean it that way.) But be glad I'm offering too. That's what makes this different from flaming by a factual standpoint. I'm willing to get rid of it if you find it offensive cordially.

And you still haven't gotten the hint? Shocking.
That was the joke.

And may I ask, why would you consider making a humorous impression of someone even comparable to that of say, direct insults? (bblue is such a ******* moron, etc.) I'm just wondering.

For what it's worth, I must say that we just don't need these types of discussions here at VisorCentral. Even though this forum is Off Topic and this thread certainly fits the description, we just can't have members saying things about other members just for the sake of saying it, regardless of how light-hearted or humurous the intent... it's not what VC is about.

That being said, I am closing this thread and will not tolerate any others that follow along these same lines.

Sorry, but somebody has to be the bad guy...
