The waiting game is over for me - I bough a cheap 2nd hand IIIx with 8mb.

Maybe I go for an Visor next year. Maybe, who knows?

Just one comment - size is for a PDA very important. Smaller is better. The Visor can in NO WAY be compared with a Palm V. If I get my hand on a cheap Palm V with 8mb I'll take it!

But with Handspring in the market now I am sure we see a nice range of new exciting products in the market next year - from Palm.

How much did you get it for ?

If size is your main area of interest then I think Palm will always be winning (at least in the near term). While Handspring's Springboard may have "changed the face" of 3rd party hardware, it has also set a lower limit for where a Springboard unit can go in terms of size.

I would be surprized to see a Handspring unit in the near term w/o Springboard functionality, they have been tooting the expandability horn a little too much to go without at least in the short term.

I paid $250 incl. the 8Mb. That's an OK price for Hong Kong. I think you can get cheaper deals in eBay.

I will still see what is on the market next year. But after playing with the IIIx a little bit I think a slimmer PDA (like Palm V) would appeal more to me. But some real exciting springboards might change that too.....
