My OVD is my first PDA, and I love it already. But I find I'm wondering if my screen has as much contrast as it should. I end up with the contrast slider set about to about 75% of its extent for most applications. Setting it to 50% makes it seem a bit faint, and 25% is too faint for most apps.

As I have nothing to compare it with, tell me -- where do you set your contrast slider? Might I have a defective screen?

The two that I have need to be set at about 2/3's of the way up. At 50% it is too faint.

50% to 66% is where mine is and most of the apps are fine. I think that seems to be the normal setting. This is my second unit and the first had about the same setting.
You'll notice it change with the temperature and humidity a little.
I think your screens are fine.

My OVD's contrast (and my BVD for that matter) is set almost dead even on 50%... maybe a % or 2 above at most.

I have mine set all the way to the right. I find that with the screen completely black that life doesn't trouble me as much. I suppose all the way to the left would have the same effect.

Seriously, though, mine is set somewhere between 66 & 75% (towards the right of center).

From what I soo on our two units and also what everyone is posting here sounds like your in the ballpark of 66-75%.
Looks like you VDX is ok.

Toolkit, I have tried 50% on mine, although I can use it, it's just a little too light for my taste.
