Red face

Does anybody know how the palm pilot memory upgrades work? Do they just lock some of the memory then you have to pay money to unlock it or what?

Nope, depending on your Palm model, they actually have to open up your Palm, and then UNSOLDER the old RAM and then RESOLDER a new RAM chip on to the Palm's motherboard. Palm IIIx can accept an upgrade board on the inside - you have to buy a RAM module (very much like PC RAM) and then open it up and plug in the new RAM.

They have software that you can download and it is sapost to give you more memory. It works for the palm III and IIIX

You may be talking about FlashPro, which will give you several hundred more kilobytes of memory. It won't work with the Visor, because the Visor has no FlashROM. The point is moot however, because the Visor comes with so much more memory to start with anyway. However, one benefit is putting stuff in FlashROM is that it is better protected in case of a crash.
