That's the exact dry bag I got for my visor! And I thought I was being weird! Since I was only going to use it to protect the Visor itself, I thought about getting the shorter but same width Voyageur bag designed for FRS radios, but it costs way more because it has a headset pass-thru plug built-in.

I have the same concerns about the bag (exposed face) that you have, but I'd feel confident clipping it to my backpack or shoulder strap for easy access.

Ha! This is funny - people are going to think we work for Voyageur... :-)

Yeah, if the bag had some kind of flip-down padding to protect the face when not in use, it would be perfect. As is I'll just have to be mindful - which I was planning on doing with or without the bag!

I too was planning to clip the thing right on to my backpack shoulder strap - with an additional 12"-or-so tether to keep it from biting the dust when handled with slippery gloves and/or butterfingers.

Well good luck! And wish me luck too - my visor w/bag is going with me on my 1000 mile hike this summer!

Does anyone know of a European/UK stockist for these? I would order direct from REI but the shipping charge is as much as the cost of the bag!

Alternatively: does anyone know of a similar bag available in the UK?

I purchased a Voyager Drypack over the weekend for my Magellan/Visor combo, and I'm pretty pleased with it. It's a tight squeeze to get the unit in and out, but otherwise I was pretty happy with it when I took the combo out in a light drizzle over the weekend.

Thanks, looks good.

They don't seem to do one big enough to hold the Visor with a large (GPS for example) module.

The Aquapac cases designed for a Palm won't be big enough - you'd have to buy one for a GPS.

I eyeballed my prism with the GPS inserted, I think one of the GPS cases would work. They come in different sizes, and tell you what the maximum dimensions they would accomodate would be.
