I was wondering what Handspring is going to do with all the Visors and Visor Deluxes the get returned in the latest "trade up" deal... Will they sell them as "refurbished" models, like many computer manufacturers?

Just wondering.... my wife could use a VDX - I'd love to pick one up for her cheap!!

trade in for Prism?

I wish they would extend the trade-in offer to swap for a Prism or Platinum. I'm not sold on the Edge yet, especially since the expansion port is itself a module!

But that's just me.

The ultimate deal would be: trade in offer (-$100), upgrade to a Prism ($400), and get the VisorPhone ($99) for a whopping deal (total of $400)! Wouldn't that be great?!

I'm wondering if Handspring is going to discount these units to students and take a decent governmental tax right off.

Also, I'm wondering since the trade in is on the Edge, is Handspring trying to see how many people are willing to trade up and thus possible downplay the springboard slot in favor of the new smaller slot? What if a lot of HS customers moved to the Edge - would this message filter to the springboard manufacturers to start using the new smaller slot and thus start building springboards that use only the new slot?

I think that the next generation of HS products will tell the tale and perhaps HS is sending up a trial ballon with this trade up program.

Is the small slot at the top available when the Edge is in any HS case? or is it covered?

Form factor has been a leading advantage of Palm with the V and 505 until the Edge came out and alot of people I know prefer form factor over SB slots.

Just a thought and maybe should be a seperate thread.
