I was wondering if anyone who has recieved their Visor can tell all of us anticipators the Handspring UPS shipper number, with that, all of us can track ours. Thanks
By the way, 2.5 hours on hold last night, fun, fun, fun

themaven,

I believe each individual order has a specific tracking number.

Heh... I TRIED to get Handspring's shipper number from UPS, but the way they acted, you'd think that I had just asked Bill Gates for his ATM pin number.

Anyone who got their Visor want to help us out with this?

This problem with getting/giving out the shipping number comes from the billing. All billing is based on that number. If you have it, you can ship anything you want with that number and it will get billed to Handspring. It wouls scare me if they gave it to you.

I concur with Chipset. The shipper number is not the same as a tracking number. The shipper number is Handspring's UPS account number used for billing, and shouldn't be given out to the public. I am a former UPS employee so don't tell me I am wrong.

Yeah, I understood that there IS a difference between a tracking number and a shipper number, but I thought the shipper number was just some kind of identifier for the company... I wasn't aware that it could be used to scam free shipping off the company in question. I stand corrected...

osjedi,

Being a former employee of UPS, perhaps you can give us a clue on how to get tracking info from UPS without a tracking number?

Is there any way?

Lightbulb

Cannot be done. The shipper number is just the shipper's account number. It is embedded in a tracking number. Quick lesson on UPS tracking numbers: 1z (shipper#) (service class) (7digit tracking#) (ck digit). tracking numbers do run sequentially, however the check digits do not. Good luck figuring it out.

hogluvr,

I have my tracking number. It does not have the destination or pick up place. Is their a reason for this? How can I get this information? See my other post - Yet another handspring screwup for more details

Every UPS customer has a unique customer number which is on the receipt.

Check with with somebody who has received their Visor, they should know. I still presume that shipping is done through another company and not under the HS name.

...but I doubt that you get more info from UPS with the customer account number. They will probably treat it confidential.

...but you can try....

You can get more info out of UPS without a tracking number, you just have to have a phone operator willing to do the leg work. Typically, you just have to know the name of the company the product is shipping from, and the name and zip code the package is shipping to. They can then tell you if anything has shipped, and an expected delivery date. But again, only if the operator will go the extra mile for you. I have done this in the past.

Question

This shipping address is for:
http://www.logistix.com/

Maybe they are the cause of Handspring's problems
