-- New Vdx comes with what stylus ? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10270)

I just recieved a new Visor Deluxe from Amazon.com, and it came with the cheap black plastic one piece stylus. I thought that I read that the newer Vdx's come with an improved stylus (metal? reset pin?). Did i get the current stylus, or is it possible that Amazon sent me an older unit (in stock for a long time). Any input would be appreciated.

I just received a new Visor Deluxe last week from Amazon and got the nice metal stylus. You should have also.

gpenegar,

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if I recieved an older Vdx that has been in stock for awhile. Does anyone know if their is any way to identify the manufacture date of my unit?

Talking Yes, there is an identification method

Look at your battery cover, you might want to remove it. You will see on the back, (inverted) behind the white barcode/SN label something engraved that says "REV" (as in revision). In a circle is a small letter that is either an A or a B. B is newer. I'm not sure if when they switched over to B, they started doing the nicer styli or not. But this method will tell you generally if you have a 1st gen or 2nd gen Visor.

Happy Holidays!

Talking

The REV A or B on your battery cover means absolutetly nothing.

Question

I beg to differ Mr.KnowItAll

Here is a thread where this is discussed.
This would indicate there are differences (not hardware wise supposedly). I was just giving it as a measure as to how old their unit was.

Also, as listed in that thread here is an image of my first Visor which is a REV A. I just noticed this when I looked back at the picture--that the REV A was not on the battery cover only, and was also on the back of the Visor. (The REV A on the battery cover is very hard to see though).
