Question

hey, It seems like I'm running out of batteries quite often. I use just those regular Energizers. Should I get those NIMH things? Changing the batteries is a pain though. I always drop the battery or something snd I'm scrambling to get one in. Of course, i'm an idiot.. but what does everyone suggest?

Thumbs up

Get the rechargeables for everyday use, but you might want to go with disposables when traveling (so you don't have to pack a recharger or risk losing a rechargeable battery). I got Nexcell AAA 650mAH NiMH batteries from - http://thomasdistributing.com/

I also got the MH-C204F recharger. It works with a "brick" transformer (for wall outlets) and a separate 12V cord for use in the car. I've got no compliants. BTW, get two sets of batteries so you always have a fully charged set.

Yeah, I also read that you're only supposed to use alkaline batteries. So, I've been rotating four AAA rechargeable batteries I picked up at Radio Shack. I don't take them all the way down to 5%; I just recharge on set overnight when I switch it to the other pair. (Rechargeable alkalines have no memory problems.)

The cheapest ones I can find. For as much as I use it, I go through a pair a couple of weeks.

Rechargeable batteries

Hi,

I've been waiting for those rechargeable batteries from ExtendComputer. They already have them out for the Palm III's and VII's. The neat thing about them is that they give you a replacement battery case cover. This new cover has a hole in it that you can plug in the charger so that you can even recharge the batteries while the Visor is in the cradle. I've been watching their website (www.extendcomputer.com) which says that this battery will be coming soon.

Has anyone heard about this?

Ron

Rechargeable battery leaks

Hi,

I have not used any of the rechargeable batteries on the market because of my fear that they will leak inside my Visor. Anyone out there have this same fear but still using rechargeables?

Ron

Post Energizer Titaniums

I'm using mostly the Energizer Titanium batteries right now and they seem to last the best. I've also used the Nexcell NiMH but they don't seem to last long enough (sometimes only a couple of days). I keep my eyemodule installed although I only use it a few times a week and wonder if it's still burning up my batteries. I did use some Duracell Ultra's a couple of months ago and they leaked and my Visor was dead. Took the thing apart and was able to clean it up pretty well and has worked fine. I had a similar problem with the regular Duracells in a GPS several years ago and Duracell was great to deal with. Paid for the repair, shipping, and even the bad batteries (which I had forgotten to claim for), about $100 altogether.

I'm using Duracell Ultras here. They are lasting alot longer than the Panasonics that came with the unit but since I haven't had my IVDx for too long I haven't tried any other types. That leaking deal has me a touch nervous though. They look alright so far.

Ark.

DU's or e2's 4 me

I've had my Visor Deluxe since March, and I have always used alkalines. About 85% of the time, it was Duracell Ultras. I've just recently started using the Energizer e2's.
