-- Minor Hardware Hack (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9987)
Just thought I'd let everyone know that I successfully added a battery pack to the HS USB cable to make a travel recharger for my Prism. I bought the $19.99 cable, opened the Visor connector carefully (the two halfs are not glued) and added the wires for a battery pack between pins 4 (gnd) and 7 (V+). I used a battery pack from Radio Shack that has 9V battery-sytle studs on the top, so I must remember NOT to connect a 9V battery to it, but it does mean I can remove the battery pack to save weight when I don't need it.
Everything seems to work fine. The Visor sees it as external power and the LED flashes to show it's recharging. All in all, cheaper than the commercially available solutions. I could always add an AC adapter too, if I get one with the multi-choice connectors at the end.
