Edge to drop to $199

Effective Sunday, the Visor Edge will be available for $199.

Effective today, it's on clearance at the Wal-mart in Raleigh for $199.

For any buyers who didn't look in the marketplace, I am still willing to trade my Palm IIIc with keyboard and extra serial sync cable for a silver Visor Edge. The deal keeps getting better.

WTF. Well, not really WTF. I wish I could say WTF about the Edge being so cheap, but the truth of the matter is 199 is the sweet spot for the edge, it's just about right.

...that said, I'll engage in ome pre-revolutionary wishful thinking about a new fetish to worship: is this to make room in their "high end" space for something other than the Treo?

Now they advertise their visor line this way (discluding discondinued lines):
High: Prism, Pro, Edge
Performance: Neo
Value: Reconditioned Visors.

I could see the Edge dropping down into the "performance" category to either even the two out (2 and 2, Chuck would be proud) or to fetish make space for an updated edge that either has color or perhaps an SD expansion slot.

...man if they had any visor with an SD slot and a springboard, I would **** myself. That would mean they could add SD on the Treo no problem.

....Of course, what I really think is that we'll see a new visor, but it will be introduced much closer to August.

Well, I suppose it's a good thing I decided to just hold on to my Edge for a while longer until I can make an educated decision on an OS5 PDA. Otherwise, I'd be pretty hard pressed to get any sort of decent return from it.

Edge has now dropped in price.

I saw it for $18(?) at Best Buy, not too bad of a deal. They did have an open blue deluxe for $109 and a new one for $95, not too good of a deal.
