What I mean by another visor is a "future" Color Visor should one arrive on the market within a year. I would hate to buy this keyboard, then get another one just for a color visor!!

Unless Handspring wants to support two different types of cradles; as Palm did with the III/VII and the V. I doubt that Handspring will redesign a Color VDX out of current mold. Any future (at least for the time being) Visor should have the same bottom pin-outs. It makes everything easier for users, IMHO.

I wouldn't be so sure that they will be the same. I would predict that a color Visor will be a rechargeable to get around some of the battery life issues. This might require a different connector. I believe this is part of the reason the Palm V connector is different. The Pilots and PalmIIIs all share the same interface and use AAAs.

The Visor and cradle already have the recharge pin... just isn't enabled. Therefore, I'd say that the next Visor would have the same connector... possibly a different cradle (for recharging, of course) but I suspect the pin-outs will be the same.

I'd say they'd keep it, like Mark said, it already has a pin to recharge with. I remember a while back someone said they actually built a cradle that was able to recharge their batters & if you go to Handspring's developer section they explain that its possible that you could sell rechargeable cradles but they kinda discourage it since they'll be comming out with one (hopefully) later this year.

I'd say the only thing that would change it would be if they moved onto a different type of media for the cradle, which is highly unlikely. They'll be sticking with USB for at least a couple of years.
