I'm think about buying a Seiko SmartPad. Seiko's site doesn't say much about it. Which Palm software does it work with? If you have one, please let me know what you think.

What handheld are you going to use it with? From what I saw, it seems to only have the IR beam on top, which wouldn't work with the Visor design (unless you want to design a system of mirrors!

That's a good point you make about the IR beam.
After posting my original message, I read some discouraging reviews...have second thoughts on just considering the buy.

Nice Try, But I'll Wait for Version 2
The concept behind the SmartPad is attractive. However, I'd be much more willing to part with the bucks if they offered some handwriting recognition technology on the Visor side so I didn't have to use my Stowaway; that and angle the beam for the VDX, of course. Pipe dream, I'm sure, since Redmond hasn't even introduced workable HR for the desktop yet. Still...

Don't hold your breath. I've got a CrossPad, which uses similar technology - stores an image of your handwritten notes, and then uses desktop software to recognize your handwritten text. Doesn't work very well, and they seem to have discontinued it.
