A month or so ago I set up BeamSync on my Visor and, with the help of suggestions from this board, synced via IR with my laptop on the first try. It's been working fine ever since until recently.
Now it works flawlessly until I restart my laptop. Then it stops working. The laptop knows it is trying to communicate, it even recognizes my Visor's username, but hotsync manager never starts. If I try a second time I will immediately get a Fatal Error requiring a soft reset. After the soft reset IR sync works fine. I can head all this off by doing a pre-emptive soft reset before attempting to sync. I know this doesn't make sense (at least it doesn't to me) but a soft reset is definitely the only thing that will get it to work again. I've tried disabling all hacks, restarting hotsync manager, tweaking the hotsync manager settings, tweaking the IR settings - nothing but a soft reset will work. After soft resetting the Visor IR hotsnc will work fine repeatedly until I restart my laptop again. This appears to happen regardless of whether I have synced with another PC in the interim.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas?
