-- Stowaway and Visor Case (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8342)
Anyone know of a good case for the Stowaway Keyboard and the Visor. I would like a case that stores both so I don't have to pack two cases around.
Thanks in advance for your information.

What about
the Rhinopak 3000?
Rhino 3000
I agree, the RhinoPak 3000 is the way to go - I wonder if Acajigas and John had the numbers confused, because I think the 2000 is a bit small for both the Visor and Stowaway.
I have both the 2000 and the 3000. I purchased the 2000 years ago to hold my old Palm Pro with the palm modem attached, it was great for that. I guess ou can get the Visor and Stowaway into the 2000, but it's kind of cramped.
With the 3000, there's room for both plus a springboard or two.
I use a 2000 for both and it's great. There's a great thread around here somewhere with some pictures of how you can put both in there. I recommend you track it down...
I'm in the same situation as I just bought my Stowaway last night after much debating between it and Gotype
One of the first things I looked for was a case to hold them and looked at the Rhino 2000 and 3000. The 3000 looks a little too big? and I am wondering how secure the visor is while in this case. I have never seen this case other than on the web.
I want the most security out of the Rhino.
I'll continue to monitor this thread and then make a decision.
This place is great!

i go back and forth twixt the r2k and r3k... r2k when i'm carrying a smaller bag, and r3k when space doesn't matter, or when i'm travelling.
i'm not such a huge fan of the r2k fit (especially with the vaja on the visor (i broke the screen, wanted closer protection...) but it's not prohibitive.
anyhoo. my $.02.

R3K
The R3K is a nice fit..and it hold other things such as modules.

The inside of the RP 3k has a bunch of elastic straps that go across the inside the one side of the case; a couple vertical, a couple horizontal, and several diagonal. You just slip the Visor and the Stowaway behind them, and they are pretty secure. You don't have to worry about them spilling out when you open the case, and they keep the two devices pretty well separated and prevents them from banging around inside the case too.
On a related point, that's why I don't use my RP 2k much for carrying both units. It's smaller and padded on the outside (which is good), but you have no internal padding between a hard plastic thing (the Visor) and a hard metal thing (the Stowaway). I'm afraid if I dropped them in the 2k, they'd damage each other.
My 2cents.

I use the Rhinoskin 3000 in conjunction with the Rhinoskin Shocksuit. At first I just had the Shocksuit and that was fine until I got my Stowaway. Then I upgraded to the RS3K and put the Shocksuit to the wayside and just put on the original Ice cover...big mistake. My old Visor got jostled just a bit too much in the RS3K and I cracked the case in a few spots (which Handspring just replaced the whole unit for me for free!). So now I put my Visor in the Shocksuit inside of the RS3k along with the Stowaway and every sits in there all snug! The RS3K is nice for all that it can hold but it just doesn't offer all of the proctection that the fragile Visor needs. I'm very happy with the combination now and I'm not disappointed with the price I had to pay for the protection/peace of mind.

I agree that no mater which RhinoPak you use, you should have the Visor in a case of its own. You can use the slipcover that came with the VDX, or some other relatively trim case. I generally use an old neoprene zip case that I had for my old PalmPro.
I initially got the RhinoPak 1100 just for the Visor, and then the RP2000 when I got the Stowaway. Instead of putting the Visor in the 2000 with the elastic straps, that's where I put the keyboard, and left the Visor in the 1100, which fits inside the 2000 with the keyboard inside as well.
