Lightbulb

Hi, I'm a student who wants to use my visor to do word processing. I have the gotype keyboard, and love it. I can't afford a laptop and was wondering if there was a printer for the visor. (like a gameboy) I would love to be at school and be able to print things.. Any help?

Although I know of no Printer SpringBoard or if even one is in the works.....

You can print from the Visor to any IrDA compatable printer. I have access to HP6s at work, which have an IrDA port up front.

You will also need IrPrint or PalmPrint to enable this capability - both are available for nominal fees.

Probably not what you were looking for, but as I know it, the only solution available.

Cool

I'm also a student, and originally wanted to buy a printer to use with my BVDx. I only found 2-3 available, however, and all were prohibitively expensive. I type up all my notes in the MemoPad app (using my stowaway :-), and print them out before exams through the Palm Desktop. If you'd like to type them up in Doc format (although I'm not sure why you would), you can use QED, Takenote, or SmartDoc (my favorite), among others, and then use a conversion program to make them into .txt files, and print them out using any desktop word processor.

As Carl mentioned, you can also print via IrDa (assuming that you have a compatible printer), using TealPrint, PalmPrint, or others. TealPrint also allows Hotsync printing, so if your school has a computer lab, you may be able to print out your notes using a hotsync cable (or a cradle, if you're willing to lug one around).

I think I've pretty much exhausted all of the options: Take your pick.

There is a black and white thermal printer available, but I don't recall the name. I believe it sold for $200-$300 and printed out on small sheets, similar to the Game Boy printer.

At that price I'd rather get one of the portable HP/Canon printers with IrDA, which cost about that. The only advantage is it requiring no ink, but is it really that suefull printing on little pieces of paper?

Talking

Ok, how 'bout this: Someone coming up with a program that allows you to send a print command from the Visor IR to the, say, laptop IR and then having that redirected to the printer connected to the computer. I know that there is a program that allows you to print to a printer IR but how many of us actually have those or have seen any on an inkjet. If the program is out there please let me know.
