Hotsync Icon disappeared

Booted up my WinXP machine this morning and my Hotsync icon wouldn't come up in the task bar (even when it is expanded). I even tried to set it to never hide (under start menu/start bar properties) and it still didn't show up. I opened Task Manager and hotsync was running. So I killed it's process tree and restarted it. THEN it showed up.

Just to put more info in, my HandStory 2.1 Icon was missing too and I went through the same process with it.

Anybody else experience this besides me?
