-- Tip for MegaLauncher & Chromacast/Silverscren w/ Flash Modules (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13700)

If you are somebody like me that uses MegaLauncher or Chromacast/Silverscren with flash modules and a backup module, you have no doubt experienced the frustration of all the flash applications losing their categories when you pull the flash module to perform a backup to the backup module.

Perhaps this is well known, but if you first exit from Silverscreen or MegaLauncher to the default launcher, and then do your backup, your categories will be intact when you next startup Silverscreen or MegaLauncher with the flash module re-inserted. It will save you the time of recategorizing your applications, which can take a bit if (like me) you have a ton of applications on your module.

It frustrates me that people can't program this into their applications, but what are you going to do? Launcher III has this feature, but caused my Prism to go into an endless crash/reset loop that forced a hard reset - not going to try that again ;-).

good luck,

Brian

Brian,
Two things:

1. Do you have the Omnisky module? Launcher III is currently incompatible with it, and creates that scrolling/reset/ issue. He's developing a beta you might ask him about testing that will hopefully get rid of thatproblem.

2. Yes, I had that problem with megaLauncher, and I appreciate your solution, but what about when you crash? Uncategorized again, plus I found that ML duplicated a number of OS files (CHNL, SCHNL, CONTENT, etc.) that ate into my RAM.
If you are a regular backer-upper, I supposed youcould restore and your categories would be back, but you would lose your latest changes if they hadn't been hotsynced.
