Hi... I have been staring at that SoundsGood module since before I even got my prism. It looks really nice...

With the price now at 149, its even better.

Here is my issue... I currently own a rio300se (which has 64mb of ram). It works ok, but it is pretty outdated software support wise, and it doesnt have the geek factor of the SoundsGood. And it loads songs very very slowly. As such, I am considering buying the SoundsGood. But the low price, while making me interested, also turns me off. Mainly I am concerned that it is a sign of a SoundsGood2 which will offer more ram or expansion or some other cool feature that I will want. I mean, eyemodule 1 dropped in price before 2 came out, but before they announced 2... ya know?

So the question is this... do I just go ahead and get a SoundsGood 1.0, knowing that a basic 64mb player has always worked fine for me in the past... or do I just keep waiting and hoping soundsgood 2.0 will hit, and I can buy that?

If you've got the money, get it. I'm in a similar boat but with a Rio500. I'd really like to get a SoundsGood, and compared to standalones I'd say its priced pretty competitively, but there aren't enough plusses to make me go for it. If loading is big enough an issue then get it, besides that theres really no advantage over your current Rio.

The Soundsgood is excellent. It's transfer speed is very good, and with the energyclip, it is tiiiiiinnnyy. My friends who don't even have a Visor want to get one because it is so light and small. They ask, "Well, could I come over to your house to transfer songs?"

Even if a soundsgood2 is coming out It's not like the SG1 will become bad. It will still be a great MP3 player (plus if it comes out within 30 days you could return it to the store and get the SG2 )

SoundsGood rocks. I've had it less than a week, and I've changed batteries 3x already cuz I'm always using it (good thing I use NiMH rechargeables).

$149 is a rock-n-roll price.

64megs is good enough for 1 hour of music, I bought it becuase I use my Visor to keep my gym activities. Since uploading music is so fast, I don't mind spending 5 mins changing music from time to time. Also I might get energy clip for jogging. Since running is bad for your CD player.

But If I am one the road, or on a bike. I rather get MP3-CD player such as Rio Volt. It holds 10 hours of music in one CD. If you already have CD burner like me, it would be perfect.

64megs it is, or get Rio Volt

Next to order is the energy clip. Then again, with the prism I may not need it, if i keep a recharger handy.

Of course, i can't even imagine having a mp3 player as small and light as i think it would be w/ the energy clip. I may need to buy it just for that reason.

Yes it is extremely small with the Energy clip. It is also incredibly lightweight. The day I got my Energyclip I realized just how small it was, (Think of a matchbook under a weak magnifying glass) Much smaller than I thought it was. The beltclip is pretty nice too. It's nice and stiff so it stays clipped to your pants. The battery lasts a long time too. So yea, the energy clip is great.

Not true. The battery life on the Prism is SIGNIFICANTALLY better. I'd say (after non-scientific studies) that it gets around, 18 hours. And thats While using the Prism. So you can use the prism and the SG and you'll be fine battery life wise. But then again the Energy Clip Rules!

It arrived today, and it is amazing. Anyone want to buy a rio300se? :P

Yeah, the main draw on the battery is the screen - as long as you have that off during MP3 playback you should do great.
