Does anyone have any idea of Visor sales to date? I'm interested to know how they're selling considering the shipping delays, the proliferation of Visor discussion sites, etc.

Logic says that they must be selling or there wouldn't be shipping delays or discussion groups...

Very true, thats why I'm interested in what the numbers might be. Kind of to cheer them on.

I tried to get shipping and production numbers from Donna Dubinsky directly and she let me know that they do not release numbers like this, which is apparently a common practice. You can search on my posts to find my report on an email I sent I think in November asking this and other questions, to which her answers/no comments were both kind and interesting.
Point is, though, I don't think anyone outside Handspring knows how many have been ordered/shipped.
In september I read that they got something like 40,000 orders in september, or the first week or something, which was more than double what they had expected. Of course I can't remember where I heard that.

In another thread a while back I did a best-estimate on their order volume based upon my order date and my order number and came up with somewhere between 30,000 and 45,000 Visors ordered in September.

I can't guarantee the accuracy of my estimates, but I did round everything down to one significant digit before I did the math, and use the 'low-ball' of another poster for the web orders/phone orders ratio. So I'd say that 40,000 wouldn't be too far out of the ball park.

Of course, I'd love to see some actual figures, but who wouldn't.

Was on the phone tonight with HS (possible double order coming my way) and operator said that they were expecting 1,000 orders a week before they started and that we swamped them, with more than that on first day. Is anecdotal, but might give another factor to estimate in as they haven't seen a slowdown in ordering yet.
