-- serial port module (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5412)
an inexpensive true serial port module would
be great. i use sprint wireless web connection on my laptop. works with pilot
but not with visor.
The efig.com diagnostics module serves this purpose (I use it all the time with my Sprint cellphone). I use it with my Garmin GPS and with an external 56K modem. I also use it as a terminal emulator. With all this capability, it was worth the money to me.
Yea, the Efig thing looks great. I
wouldn't use anything but the serial port,
however... It would be interesting to hear what folks have been doing with theirs.
I emailed Efig and asked if they had any plans to offer a "serial-only" module. Their reply was that they were working on a "consumer version". Maybe if enough people email them ( [email protected] ), it will become a reality.
It seems to me that a serial-port Springboard would be a hot-selling item that shouldn't be too expensive (for both the manufacturer and the consumer).

I also e-mailed EFIG about a "serial only" SpringBoard to [email protected], but I have not received a reply. (6/1/00 - Yep, they are working on a "Consumer Version")
Hopefully it comes out quickly.

i also emailed efig about a springboard.
if enough of us do.....
i emailed innogear. i figured a serial connection and some extra memory would make a good 2v module. i didn't get a reply back.
