Question

People are posting about their Stowaway keyboards...I thought that they won't be available until June. Are they available from somewhere yet? Am I missing something?

I purchased mine from CompUSA on May 12th .. I think thats where most of us have been getting it from. Excellent keyboard.

got mine at CompUSA too. I heard that Staples has them too. But I've seen no proof.

Unhappy

I've been looking around online, but I can't find anywhere with 'em in stock...Has anyone bought one online recently?

(I'm in Canada, no CompUSA or Staples)

I got mine from Targus on line -- I'm not sure if I'd recommend them, though. They billed me immediately on receipt of the order and then took a couple of weeks to fill it.

John:

Have you received it yet? Looking at the targus site (http://www.targus.com/default_product.asp?sku=PA800U) it says that it's taking pre-orders, for shipping in mid-june.

I ordered mine from Targus when they were first available and received it in about a week. I think they must be trying to fill the retail line and that's why they're taking orders for June delivery.

Yes, I have received it. I ordered it early, and I guess I lucked out.

Talking

When I went to get my Stowaway I first checked the Targus site. It said the Staples near my office had them, so I went over at lunch. Unfortunately the bonehead helping me didn't seem to want to look for them. He just kept telling me he hadn't seen them.....then he wanted me to show him where on the site I saw that they had them. So instead of sticking around to prove I wasn't a liar, I went to CompUSA (but hated that I was giving them my money).....anyway..they had them out on the shelf......not even locked up.......

I purchased mine from CompUSA
A week later, two other interns at the hospital I work in purchased theirs on the same day at CompUSA. Unfortunately (or fortunately for them), they took the last two in stock.
It's an excellent piece of machinery of fine engineering, and I love it (as well as the other two interns).

Good luck.

Red face

Well...there's a handy-dandy site here in Toronto that will deal them when they become available again (www.handheldinterfaces.com), so it shouldn't be too bad, I guess.

What are the dimensions of the Stowaway when it is closed?

Posted by MarkEagle on 05-31-2000 11:11 PM:

Post

The Stowaway is only slightly larger than the Visor itself, measuring 3.6" x 5.1" x 0.8" closed. Open, it's 13.8" x 5.1" x 0.44".

Got mine at Staples on May 26th, they just got them in the day before. No problems, it even survived a 6 foot fall down some stairs onto concrete yesterday without a scratch. Works like a champ.

Cool

I searched through seven different stores from the Lakes Region of NH down to Nashua. I intentionally kept the CompUSA in Nashua on my list for last because it was farthest away and I was relatively sure I'd find it there. I couldn't find anyone who'd even heard of them until getting to CompUSA, but even then there was no sign of them on the floor, I had to ask and have one brought out from the back! I least I found it and it was worth the effort,

Hey, hey, looks like mine was just delivered from Insight. They still list it as backordered but they show that it was accepted by my campus post office yesterday.

Question

How much do you pay at the store? I saw it on the Outpost site for $99.
