Question

I have read tons of posts on screen protectors and on all of them they go WAY off topic, I just want to know a few things. Firstly are screen protectors that go under your case good (what I want to know is if they are hard to put in, take out, durable, what YOU find good etc etc). Secondly, are window decal screen protectors good? (same questions as above). That is all, plz try not to go off topic.

Ok I'll try not to sway off topic here.

2. I use WrightRights and they work fine. A lot of people complain that it makes the screen rough and dim but it's not that bad, you get used to it.

1. I dunno...never tried any like that. Just experiment with stuff and see how it works. If you find something that really works well remember to post here to tell us about it

Peace

I'm using window decal sheets myself. They scratch fairly easily, but they are cheap per protector and are easy to put on/remove. (I had used WriteRights, and a pack of 12 lasted me about 2.5 years, but I wanted to try something clearer.)

I tried some window decals (don't remember the brand but I bought them at Fry's electronics) and they where not that good. They scratched easily and they where not exactly SUPER transparent, apart from that the adhesive seemed to be to strong and I was affraid it might dammage the screen. Now I use writewrites and am perfectly happy with them (as is my wife).

I use vinyl that I cut to the size of the screen. I bought 1/2 a yard of the stuff (18" x ~48") for about $1 from Wal-Mart (enough material to make screen protectors until someone invents scratch-free screens). It holds up really well, is very clear, and sticks to the screen without adhesive. It is a bit tedious to cut, but I bought a fabric, wheel cutter--it works like a pizza cutter--and use a straight edge (cutter also from Wal-Mart for about $12 if I recall correctly). Applying is also a bit of an art as with all screen protection options I've tried so far (overhead projector film tucked under the edges of the screen frame, WriteRights, & Scotch 811 on the Grafitti area), but I use a credit card and apply the vinyl like I would a WriteRight. This leaves several little bubbles that actually get worked out over time by using the Visor.

I just changed the protector last night. The process took me about 15 minutes, including cutting a new one form the vinyl. My efficiency was minimized due to the fact that I was holding a phone to my ear with my shoulder during most of the process. The protector I was changing was about 3 or 4 months old.

I use Avery window decals. If you rub hard with your stylus, they will scratch. Other than that, I like them. They are easy to put on and take off and they are far easier to apply than those that stick under the edges of the bezel.

I'll throw in my 2 cents:

I use WriteRights. I've had my Visor since the end of March, put a WriteRight on it right out of the box, and it's still on there. At that rate, the pack I've got should last a long long time.

I'm not really happy with the non-transparent-ness of them, and wish I they had come out with the ones for the IIIC sooner, but other than that I love them. I've gotten used to it, and would probably not like the glare of a clear screen anyway.
