-- No more Junior Members! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=325)

Exclamation

To prevent user angst at being called "Junior," we have modified the Discussion area so that there is no Junior Member. All registered users will be "VisorCentral Members." Moderators will now be "VisorCentral Staff."

Question

Out of curiousity - what was the reason for the Member/Junior Member status? Was that just to encourage people to post a lot of messages?

Just wondering.

Wink

Darn, I thought I had finally "achieved" Member status and I find this out. Way to ruin a guy's day.

Junior(Member) is the default for UBB, which is what we use for discussion.

Oh well... finally upgraded to member for just two days. Easy come, easy go...

Unhappy

Hey, that ain't fair! I just became a "member" YESTERDAY!!! Actually, it was a good distinction, I thought, because it let you know who had been around a while and who might just be a newbie spouting off. (Not that all newbies just "spout off". I mean, I was a newbie up until yesterday.)

Okay, how about "VisorCentral Newbie" and "VisorCentral Member"? Well, probably not.

Cool

<shrug> Makes no difference, really. Some folks will *always* be junior, whatever their official status is.

Thumbs up

Personally I am happy to have this change. I got the sense that some people were posting messages when they had nothing to say, just wanting to get to the member status.

Hopefully this will make for less noise. Mind you, I have just contributed to the noise... sorry!

Mike

I also appreciate the change. I almost never post, because I don't want to clog up the board with dumb posts. I've been here since close to the 14th (which is old here), so I'm not exactly "junior"...
