Exclamation

Hey all,

I noticed what I thought was a crack in the casing on my Prism - from the bottom of the silo opening along the side of the case toward the front of the visor. I called Handspring, and they sent me out a replacement. Well, I get it today and it has the SAME exact marking, which makes me think it is a seam, not a crack. So I have some questions for all of you:

1) For those of you that have a Prism, do you have a line/seam/"crack" in the side of the casing from the bottom of the silo opening toward the front of the Prism? Could this just be a seam in the manufacturing/machining of the Prism?

2) If that is the case, should I send back my current Prism or the replacement one? As we all know, the replacement is likely a refurbished Prism, so would you keep the one you have been using for about 6 months, or the probably refurbished one?

I am in a real quandary on this one folks. Any advice would be appreciated. I really want to know if this is a seam or a crack, because if it is actually a crack I have to send it back too. C'mon prism owners, let me know if you have the same seam in your casing!

TIA.

Yep,My Prism has that line too.

I think it's up to you. If your old Prism has a scratch or paint problem, than take the new one. But if there is nothing wrong with your old prism, don't change it.

Yup, I've got the same crack. Had to look for it tho'. I would've never seen it if you hadn't mentioned it.

Also, I have some paint/scratch in the usual places. Doesn't matter to me though, everything works perfectly.

Makes it look/feel gemutlich (german for cozy.)

Lightbulb These are "mold marks"

Not to worry...

These marks are made during the molding process. This has been discussed in previous threads. See the thread below:

I have one on my Platnium. I never noticed it until now.

I've got it too! Never noticed until now, either. If your old one is fine, I'd just keep it & return the replacement.
