memplug + cspotrun problem
I had recently bought a memplug and Mr. FlashUSA smartmedia card and downloaded the cspotrun program from memplug's website. What I'm trying to figure out is: which of these components is giving me the following problem. If I place 1 or 2 ebooks in the proper cspotrun directory on the memplug, then the cspotrun program works fine. But as I add more books, all of a sudden, I get a fatal error and have to reset when I try to run cspotrun. Then, if I remove the newer documents or the whole directory, the fatal error still exists. What could be the reason for this?
My other question is, if I formatted the smartmedia card, and then try to run cspotrun with ebooks in internal memory, the screen hangs and I can't even shut the palm off. Yup, another reset I had to do.
So what good is the "special" cspotrun program if you can't run it with the memplug attached?
Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm working on my own backup errors w/memplug (on which they're emailing w/me) but CSpotRun seems to be working fine.
I think:
-When you installed CSpotRun, the .prc and .pdb automatically go into palm\piDirect\ or you should place them here.
and
-palm\programs\CSpotRun directory is created automatically.
-place your .doc files in palm\program\CspotRun\
-lastly, they have to be .doc files - I also use DocsToGo to read my other types of text files.
Perhaps, this will help. Personally, I have had no crashes or errors with CSpotRun on my memplug.

I have already tried formatting my card and I've contacted them already. They have simply told me to make sure I place the files in the appropriate directory (which I already did).
I didn't know the files MUST be in .doc format. I've seen it working with .pdb files since my ebooks are pdb files. I guess I'll try looking for a program that converts .pdb files to .doc files just to be on the safe side.
Thanks a lot. Do you notice if it takes a LONG time for cspotrun to recognize the books? Maybe when I saw the blank screen at first, I thought it crashed when in fact it was just trying to read the files.

And how does one transfer to the handheld a non-pdb non-prc file using Hotsync?
Thanks a lot.
