-- Reset after using backup module (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5519)
I've had the backup module for awhile now and haven't experienced any problems using to backup or restore. But just lately everytime I backup to the module it requires a reset. I haven't loaded any new hacks so I'm curious as to what is causing this - a defective unit maybe?
I've tested it out and it seems to be backing up the data fine and restores everything after a hard reset - just freezes up the unit when I take the module out after a backup.
Any thoughts?
Mine does that too. Just be sure to get out of the Backup application (exit the application by going to the home screen or any other application) before removing the module.
Hope this helps.
I have the same problem. I always assumed it was due to one of the many hacks that I run. I have been using the same work-around as Nhatman (switch back to the launcher before removing the module). Not a terrible inconvenience if you ask me.
Hello,
I take it one step further. I also power off the device and then remove the module.
I have 3 springboards and, so far, so good....
I was having all kinds of problems with my backup module and reseting my Visor. In fact one time, it put it to an eternal-loop and I had to hard reset. Luckly I was able to restore again. I found out that batterlevel hack was the problem. I disabled it. Havent had any problems so far. I sure love that backup module. I also use Backupbuddy.....can't be too careful...
Heyday
I've never had any problems, but I've also never taken it out while in the "backup" application.
At least getting out of the application sounds like good advice to mee.

Hmmmmmmmm......
I have to exit out of the Backup app before I pull out the module, or I have to reset. I think that stands for any modules, as my OmniRemote does it as well.
Of course, the OmniRemote also has some how caused my Visor to reset when I change the batteries. Which it doesn't do when the Springboard is empty, or has the backup module in it.
