Question

Please give me your real life experiences on cases with a beltclip. It seems most of you like to carry around your Visor in your pants, but I would rather have mine handy on my belt. I know it may be too geeky for some but I need to get one soon. Help!

Check this out - http://www.fredlet.com/palm/cases/casesfr.htm , then click on the "ratings" link in the left-hand frame. They list all the ones with belt clips - then scroll down the left-hand frame to find the review for that case. The site rocks!

I used to have a PalmIII, which I gave to my wife along with a new "purse" style case. This left me with my 3COM beltclip case. At first I thought my new BVD would not fit as it is a bit taller, especially with the lip of the plastic screen cover sticking up. But since the 3COM case is made of leather and was already broken in from a year's use with my P3, it easily stretched that little bit to accomodate my visor. Now I have my BVD within easy reach without having to spend any extra dough. BTW, these cases are much cheaper from BUY.com than from retail stores or Palm directly.

I bought a belt-clip case from Covertec. It's the best case of its type I've ever seen. I probably spent a year looking for the perfect case that fit the way I used my Pilot.

The case is made of black nylon with some sort of stiffener inside. The case looks like a long, rectangular piece of material, folded in half with elastic to form the sides. There's another piece of elalstic that goes over the top of the case to secure the PDA. The case attaches to the belt with one of those swivel clips that you see on some cell phones. the cool thing is that you can easily remove the PDA and case without taking the clip off your belt.

I haven't purchased my Vdx yet, but I'm quite certain that this case will continue to serve me well as I make the switch from a Palm to Visor.

I purchased my case from a company that I believe was called PalmPlanet. Covertec can be found at www.covertec.com.

Joe, exactly what kind of "purse" style case did you get your wife, and does she like it? I'm looking for something like that right now. It's hard to throw my Visor, cell phone and everything else in the small purse I have now.

Thanks,

Thumbs up

Gadgetguy,

I bought the Flip Case by Synergy through Palmgear.com. Although not made specifically for the Visor, it works perfectly with it. Ir is not blocked, syncing is fine. Swivel belt clip same as described above. Check it out.

The EB slipper case is also a nice case. It detaches from the clip easily without removing the clip from the belt as well. Check out the review on the front page of the visorcental site.
