-- vaja, rhodiana, or slipper? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3834)
all right, i understand it's probably going to come down to taste, but...
i currently use the rhinopak3000 to carry all my visorstuff around, and i'm thinking about putting the visor itself in a formfitting case, for when i pull it out on the subway(easy, those of you whose minds went straight to the gutter, easy
), or dont want the bulk (i.e. don't need my stowaway) of the 3k, and c. i want the formfitting case to be able to be on the visor most of the time, including being carried in the r3k.
so the research i've done brings me to these 3 cases. so far as i can tell, they all three have the flip back cover, which i like.
vaja:
pros: beautiful, ostrich is exotic, quality craftsmanship, engraving, cut out for reset.
cons: no hotsync in case, covers the color of the visor (mine's orange).
rhodiana:
pros: urban-chic, ballistic nylon, good protection, see more of the visor's color, hand-hold strap thingies.
cons: no hotsync in case, hard to remove/insert the visor, the buckle maybe adds too much size to fit in the r3k?
eb slipper:
pros: slimmest form factor, hotsync/stowaway in case
cons: velcro closure, eb logo on front, too executive (for me, anyway)
really the only thing that draws me to the slipper is the hotsync in case thing.
i really like the rhodiana and vaja, and am wondering what people's thoughts are regarding the fit of any of these cases in a pretty full rhinopak3000 case. i'm interested in keeping the belt clip option, so the post would be a factor in the case as well, i guess.
i'd appreciate any input. any at all.
thanks.

beware the dryptosaur.
Just an FYI, Vaja now is making a hot-syncable case.

I give the Rhodiana an enthusiastic "two thumbs up"!

Another interesting point about the rhodiana belt clip is that it isn't proprietary. It's the same clip that you can get at Best Buy from "The Swivel Clip" company. That means that you can get "back up" belt clips or even mounting brackets! I got the same mounting arrangement for my cell phone in my truck and an thinking about getting another mounting bracket so I can have my IVX sitting securely if I'm on a longer drive (and don't want it to be scrunched up next to me on my belt). This brings up the only "problem" I've had with the case, which is that if I'm not careful where I position the Visor when I get into the car, the placement of the cover can get pressed down onto the keys. This has been a very minor issue and didn't cause any "damage" that couldn't be corrected with a soft reset.
Enjoy!
After I finish the Vaja case review I'm going to do a "FaceOff" on the various beltclip cases that I've reviewed. If there's anything in particular you want me to compare among the cases, post it here.

I'll throw in a vote for the Slipper, just because I have one and happen to like it a lot.
I don't have a Vaja and haven't seen one in person, but it also looks like a very good case. 2 things I don't like about it - 1) Belt clip is not an option, you have to have it (and I would rather not). 2) "Wrap Around" closure. I'd be just as happy if my Slipper didn't have the velcro or anything else holding the "flap" down.

Hmmmmmmmm......
Has anyone heard anything about the JetPac? See http://www.jpsolutions.com/ Its only $25 shipped and seems like a nice simple design. I'm looking for input or experience with it.

BTW I emailed them and they do have a case for the visor, its just not listed on the web site yet.

Do not let concerns about getting the Visor in and out of the Rhodiana case for syncing deter you. I've never figured out why some of the reviewers have difficulty with this, because I've found it to be incredibly quick and easy. The case itself is very well constructed, offers the most protection of any you've mentioned, and just plain looks cool :-)
Thought I'd add a bit more to the mix. I've ordered a case from Covertec for my Visor, the Cobra Series. It's a belt clip model that use the Visor's plastic cover to hold it into the case. From the vanity viewpoint you won't be covering up your visor at all (I have a blue one). I haven't seen a review of this case anywhere (the company sales guy told me that a few were forthcoming). It's a flip cover design as well. I was planning on posting a new topic as soon as I receive mine. www.covertec.com
thanks for all your input, kids...
but i think i'll wait for this:

email response from vaja:
Hi Matt,
Actually we're working over the syncable case for Visor series organizers.
We'll upload it by the end of July
Thanks for your interest
