If I covet my neighbor's ass, am I committing adultery in my mind?!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Your post said:
"just pulled a definition:
voluntary sexual intercourse between a married man and someone other than his wife or between a married woman and someone other than her husband;

Seems like it is the act, not the relation of the act to the person, which is adultery."

I think MarkEagle's point was that coveting thy neighbor's wife is a sin for the non-married person. If an unmarried person and Mrs. Jones next door are getting it on, she is commiting adultery, he is fornicating AND coveting his neighbor's wife.

WOW! (or woe...) a two-fer!!

I don't see how you can say that, either. I was simply reinforcing what you said along with offering an alternative definition.

It can certainly be interpreted that way.

Let's not go there!

Someone said adultery can only be comitted by a married person. I pointed to a definition which said this is not the case. You then said "thou shalt not covet..." which is completely out of left field. Anyhoo, this is just a giant spiral o' misunderstanding.

Yes. It is. I made a complete ass out of myself once insisting that it was true. Now I've seen the light.

It's only lying when you know what you're telling someone is not true. Otherwise it's just ignorance being spread.

Actually, this is the common off-topic section between forums about the Handspring Visor and the Handspring Treo. Seems like the exact place for it.

As Toby pointed out, the Off Topic section ("Talk about almost anything. No flames please.") is shared between both VisorCentral and TreoCentral. In here, almost anything goes, as long as it's clean, and not derogatory or inflammatory. What we won't tolerate here (or in any section for that matter) are personal attacks, vulgar language, illegal activities, and the like.

Exactly right, ToolkiT!

Now, then, what were discussing before we were so rudely interrupted? Ah, yes--The Simpsons!!

RE: The counter/clockwise thing, I actually got it from some book of facts a well-meaning relative gave me as a kid. It was paper back and had really cool illustrations in it. It talked about stuff like what was the riddle of the sphinx, why do men walk on one side/women on the other, etc. I carried that thing around like it was The Bible. Wish I could find a copy now, as a matter of fact.

Never mind that it was wrong on the toilet flushing thing...
