Unhappy

Today I noticed a strange problem with my Prism. If I try to change categories from the drop down menu at the top right I get a "Fatal Alert." It says "DataMgr.c, Line: 7025, DmWrite: DmWriteCheck failed" and I am forced to reset it. I can still change categories by pressing on the home button. I'm not sure when it started happening because I don't usually change categories, but I assume it has to do with some sort of software conflict. Any ideas?

Unhappy not only that one

I've got this too, plus another message. I'm going to post to the How-to/Troubleshooting forum about it & start a new thread on it.

Same thing

I just got a Prism on Friday and I'm having the same problem. What gives?

Has anyone solved this problem?

Do you get this error when you tap the drop down menu, or do you get it when you select a category? If the latter, do you get the error on any category or only specific categories?

Oh, be sure to have a good backup. I once had a similar problem, which was with an application with a corrupt icon. Ended up having to hard-reset.

Don't remember. Will have to do it in order to be certain so I'll do it this evening in order to avoid a reset now. Thanks for the info.

Me too!

I've had this problem for ages--same error message and everything.
It happens the first thing you do after tapping on the the category pull-down, even if you don't select a category. (For example, tapping on the find icon, or using a hardware button.)
You can still cycle through categories by tapping the home icon.

I've ignored it for months, but now I'm going to try to fix it. I'll let you know the results.

Yay!

I fixed it! Here's how:
Sync to back up your data. Then go into your backup folder and delete psysLaunch. Hard-reset and sync again to restore everything else.

I've suspected that file for a while, but I did't want to hard reset (and Beam Box won't let you delete it). But it's all fixed now!

BTW, I have no idea how it got screwed up in the first place. If anyone has a clue, let me know.
