-- Take to the Bathroom!! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1317)

Been taking the Visor to the john for 4 months now. I can usually get one game of Euchre (card game) in per dump.

Luckily, we have a stainless steel TP holder with a shelf

The best part is no one knows what you are doing...the NYTimes was so obvious.

I use to work in a office with mostly men. So it was commonplace to carry a book or newspaper, or magazine to the bathroom. Now I am the only guy at where I now work. The men's room is part of the breakroom. The Visor allows alot more discretion and options.

Along the lines of a "TP" springboard, why not take it a step further and make a "babywipes" springboard. I have 3 children in diapers and hate carrying around those cumbersome diaper bags.

What you need is a NannySpringboard!

A NannySpringboard?!? Sounds great, it needs a motion sensor and a speaker that says stuff like "Don't hit your brother!"

Nah call it the "NannyBoard"

Might as well combine it with the EyeModule to catch the kids doing what they're not supposed to... to eliminate the Ida factor:

"Who did that???"

"Ida knoooooowwwww!!!"

hmmm... can you tell I have kids?

(And I must say AnnMarieME, you are one smart cookie! Ziploc bags... good idea for my bathtub reading sessions. I HAVE had a few soggy paperbacks )

A question now on bathroom etiquette. As evidenced by many posts here, some prefer the solitude of bathroom time for self-improvement, inner reflection, and quiet meditation while others see it as an opportunity to "let loose" (forgive the pun) and have fun by casting off the constraints of work with a more recreational/game oriented activity. Is there an implied level of decorum which should be reserved for our personal time? Also, how well do the IR ports work in those enclosed enviroments? Is it social faux pas to flash your Visor under the stall divider to let your neighbor know?

I got my Vdx last Dec and I've since been wanting to read AvantGo in the john but haven't mustered the courage. Now that Visorphiles of the world have come out openly admitting their "dirty" little secrets, I just might start risking accidentally dropping my prized PDA down the can for the pleasure of perusing the WIRED NEWS anywhere and anytime I want to.
Thanks guys for turning us on to another Visor application.

A guy I know had his GVD in the bathroom with him in the deluxe matching color case.

It slipped off the shelf, landed screen down (in the case) on the hard tile and the screen shattered. It could still turn on and display okay, but the touch screen didn't work anymore.

He's getting a replacement from Handspring.

*wonders what the person in the next stall thought that sound was...*

Anyone wanting some HHG action, please email me privately.

And I'm happy knowing I'm 99% through the first book.. on with the rest.

HHG? Do you mean Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (HGG)?

That would be correct, Mr. Ronbot

I thought it is referred to as h2g2, hence the name of the web site.

Thread police here... can we stay on the topic?

No seriously, since this is the most popular topic... I'd still like to hear what other programs you like to "use on your visit to the W.C.".

I like to take the time to read and reply to e-mail.

I wonder if a "Bumper case" would make me feel any more comfortable and less scared of dropping my VDX?

I take mine in and read an ebook (currently working through Burroughs' Martian Series) or play a game of cribbage.

Since the bathroom is the only place I get any privacy at home, it's not uncommon for me to sneak in there with the Visor and my Stowaway... I do believe I've used every app on my IVDx at least once while in there as well. This, of course, will complicate itself when I finally get a Springboard modem... perhaps I can discretely run a phone line into the bathroom.
