It's Gone!
I have a daily ritual of reading my Prism in bed. But last Thursday that ritual came to an abrupt end as I could not find my Prism. I checked my pants hoping it was still on the belt. Nope. I scoured the house in search of it, but there was no sign of it. Well, maybe it's in the car. Not there either.
Then I remembered I had made two stops on the way home to buy some CD-R's for my new drive. (I was really getting scared now.) I dashed to my car and sped back to Office Depot and called on the way there to see if anyone had seen it. Yeah, right! I called Staples, too, just in case.
Then it hit me--I lost my Prism. But not just the Prism--my Minijam and my 32MB MemPlug I was carrying in the case.
Ahhh...the case. Damn that case, a SportSuit III, for slipping off mybelt as got out of the car. It was clipped on instead of looped through my belt.
Anyway, I'm guessing that's what happened to it. I can't think of any other explanation because I had it when I initially got in the car and I don't remember taking it off my belt either.
So may this be an exercise in how NOT to carry your Visors around. I've learned mine!
BTW--my new (refurb) Prism will be here today!

That is one of my worst nightmares! With the minijam in as well. Arggh. Good to hear your refurb will be here soon.
Hey! Get a Handspring Sport Case!
They're only $5 on CompUSA.com in Basic Black and they fit the Prism and slightly oversize modules like MiniJam just fine. You'll have to carry your other modules in your pocket, though. And it secures to your belt with an adjustable strap and buckle, so no clip to slip and no belt removal required to attach.
See my complete review on the "Handspring Sport Case Review" thread.

I was thinking about the sport case for my deluxe/visorphone. Do you tink it would fit?

Take a look at E & B Cases "Slippers". I'm on my second one now (I switched models). On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate them a 9.5.
They can be found at http://www.ebcases.com
I understand how you feel.
I lost my first deluxe (green) way back in 2000, same problem. Sat down during a concert for children at the Egg in Albany, NY- it must have fallen then. It was never found.
Replaced it with a blue deluxe (thank goodness for my backup module!) that had faithfully done service until early this month, when digitizer problems prompted me to buy a Prism from Dave (Drakion) here at VC. (again, thank goodness for my backup module!)
Love the Prism! All my modules (except my Eyemodule 1) like it too.
I was using a Rhinoskin leather clip on, but my Prism came with a EB slipper which I love. It has the same type of clip mechanism that my Rhinoskin has, but better made in metal and plastic instaed of plastic. (I actually snapped two clips off of Rhinoskins by sitting down in cars.) The EB is much tougher, and made out of better leather.

Maybe....
with a minor modification, like a small hole for the antenna. If you got money to burn, go buy the full price Visorphone Sport Case. If you don't, buy the original Neoprene Sport Case at ComUSA.com for $5 (plus $5 shipping, but what the heck, buy some other cheap stuff on the same order and spread out that shipping cost!).
Then cut out your own notch with a good sharp pair of scissors, If you want to get really fancy, stitch up the cut edge with a sewing machine. Or get your Mom/Wife/Girlfriend/Boyfriend/whatevever, who likes to sew to do it. Surely you know someone like that?
If you have a LOT of money to burn, get one of those great E&B Slipper Prism for Visorphone cases. But you better scour the internet for a distributor who still stocks them because E&B says they do not make them anymore!
Isn't that the way it alway happens, you finally find just what you need, and they stop making it! <grin>

For the paranoid
My prism is the third lobe of my brain, and I'd be lost without it.
So I carry the blasted thing in a BurroPac sholder holster, under my left forearm.
I figure that any incident which removes my prism will also remove my arm.
Thanx guys! I feel all warm & fuzzy.
My replacement is working great and I promise to be more careful with it. Been stocking up on some closeouts to compliment it. Got another MemPlug. Also found a backup module and ThinModem for $19.99 each. I haven't replaced the MiniJam yet and may not for a while as I was in the hospital for 2 days and have spent $1300 on my car in less than a month.
I may get another SportSuit III and put it through the belt loop this time--my MiniJam case is looking raggedy!

But for you, if it has been found and you don't "lock" it, someone out there has your entire life in the palm of their hand. Bummer. Sorry dude.

Where did you find the backup module and ThinModem for those prices? Lowest price I saw on a ThinModem was $49 so I opted for the 33.6 K (still faster than my dial-up will do) Handspring Modem for $19.99 at Compusa.com.
ThinModem Plus with 8MB memory woud be nice but it is still $100 or more. I guess I paid to much for an extra 8MB backup module at Office Max on clearance for $35.

Found those items at my local Staples in Maryland. I check back every now and then to see if they close out anything. This time I got lucky. Heck, I even got an EyeModule2 for $50!
You'd probably die if I told you how much I paid for a MemPlug.

cheap camera case
My most durable case so far is a Samsonite size medium digital? camera case from Wal-Mart ($4 US dollars). Best for strange users like me who actually want to lug around the stowaway keyboard, visor, and misc module or 2 in one belt case. Vertical velcro strap on the back can be sewn at bottom to eliminate chance of dislodging from belt. (surgical suture works best, if you can find a supplier
)
Pros: convenience, ultra cheap cost, top side zipper access to visor & keyboard (these fit perfectly), speed clip access to misc stuff in separate front compartment, another great excuse to use when spouse grumbles about being in Wal-Mart's electronics section *again*.
Cons: absolutely no protection on visor when actually being held, case is the largest I would go on a belt before considering size to be ridiculous. I can get away with it as an EMT, but wouldn't use it with beyond-casual business attire.
Closest pic I could find is http://www.epinions.com/Samsonite_C...Camera_Bags_200 , although pictured version is crappy compared to version I bought (from Wally World's film processing section). Funny thing is, I've seen similar versions marketed as "PDA cases" elsewhere at 300% cost.
